My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies – if you are serious adoption please email caarescue@gmail.com ~

My name is ACE!
& I am one lucky puppy – you have no idea how lucky I am. See some very nice ladies mounted an invited rescue mission in Lac Simon. Where they rounded up all the stray dogs that they could with the help of the community. See up in these remote areas there are no vets and so very few dogs are sterilized so litter after litter are born and it does not take very long for the stray population to get overwhelmingly huge. These ladies dubbed The Dream Team take in as many dogs as they can prior to any dog culling (YES we do have dog culling in Quebec), they bring them to an off island shelter where the dogs all see a vet and get vaccinated, dewormed and sterilized. Then they move off to established rescue groups for adoption

However on that day I was not picked up… I was not noticed for some reason and I was left out in the cold. Just shivering and half frozen to death and just so very hungry. Thankful one of the ladies noticed me right as they were about to pull away. Problem was there was no room for me – all the cages were already filled up and loaded onto the trucks!! Oh no but that lovely lady was not leaving without me; no way no how so she bundled me up in a blanket and put me on the passenger seat and off we went! So I was officially a Dream Team co-pilot… a little famous in the rescue world who follows the mission stories (you will see in one of my pictures ME napping on the passenger seat!).

So now I am in foster care with another pretty awesome lady! I live with dogs and am friendly with them all.
I have discovered what a comfy doggie bed is – who knew these awesome things existed and why did NO ONE tell ME! I love my bed and am happy to sleep on it all night long next to my foster mama’s bed

For a half starved almost forgotten pup I am freakishly smart! I knew right away to do my business outside and not inside!
I am not leash trained… did not even know those existed either until I met my foster family! So I will need help and training with behaving like a proper canine citizen in all other aspects like leash walking, sit, stay, etc…

YES I am a husky mix and YES I am afraid or rather confused by cats! My first encounter with cats was with the big resident kitty. We were face to face and I just leaned in to smell him and the cat gave me a big slap on the head! haha... I was like, “Wow, What just freaking happened??!??”
and then Ninja (the friendly resident cat) came to see me and rubbed himself against me, but I was so terrified I didn't want to move. So right now it is safe to say if your cat gives me a good swat then I won’t be chasing him any time soon!

My foster mummy says I have a great appetite and that is a good thing because I do have to put on some weight

Anyway it is safe to say that at 4 months old I have a lot of learning to do and am looking for a family who will invest the time and energy and love in me for all my days!

If you would like to meet Ace at his foster home in Mirabel please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Ace we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
