My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella.  8  year old, 85lb, Spayed Female, Mountain dog mix.
  • Up to date on all shots.  Recently had full physical exam with extensive blood work, 3 year rabies shot, and got clean bill of health.

  • Housetrained and micro chipped.

  • Loves people, but small children make her nervous.  Does fine with older children.

  • Not sure with cats.

  • Good with most other dogs.

Bella has lived with her human since puppyhood.  However, her human recently died.  She has been through a lot of stress and anxiety this past year.  She’s now looking for her final forever home and family who can provide her a settled, calm, and predictable environment, filled with love and kindness.

Some personal notes about Bella are as follows:

  • She loves attention and pets, and is a ‘leaner’.  (She likes to lean on you when she’s close by.)  She is a snuggler.

  • She enjoys playing with tennis balls and Frisbees.  A 15 minute session a couple times a day suits her fine.

  • She loves a daily walk, as she loves to sniff all of the interesting smells along the way.  (Just hold on tight to her leash if a cat or other small furry animal scampers along your path, as Bella loves to chase them.)

  • She enjoys hanging out on her raised bed on her patio, and being outside, in the cooler weather.

  • She loves playing her dog puzzle games.

  • She sounds the alarm when strangers appear, but relaxes fine when she learns they are welcome and they treat her kindly.

  • She can be a little anxious when children ride bikes, scooters, or skateboards by her.  So calm words, a loose leash, and moving in the opposite direction of the noise and activity, relaxes her.

  • Loud noises make her nervous and she sometimes barks at them.  Rescue Remedy helps her a great deal around July 4th and during thunderstorms.
