My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meg- 1-2 year old female German Shepard Mix, Aproximately 30 lbs.
Meg was left behind by her owners in an empty house in Detroit. A neighbor asked us to help her after watching her be pepper sprayed by the mail carrier, and passers by hitting her and throwing things at her for merely protecting her hone, as most shepherds would. She was living in the garage there, and didn't trust us at all, the first few times we went. Finally, after multiple visits, and after a ton of treats, she came out to the sidewalk for some canned food and we got her safe that day. It took awhile for her to trust us, understandably, and now that she's feeling safe, shes a great girl. Unfortunately, Meg had glaucoma in one eye from a trauma probably caused while she was left to fend for herself. Glaucoma is very painful, and because it was already cloudy, our vet had no choice but to remove it. Meg is high energy, and very protective of those that treat her well. She requires no small children, only because she's a bit nervous if you sneak up on her blind side. She's still a puppy so she is crate trained, and house trained too. Meg needs a fenced in yard!! Please call us about Meg for a phone consult at (586)690-2808. Please be patient after leaving a message, as we're all volunteers!!
