My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shadow is a 2 year old poodle mix who was rescued out of a kill shelter. He was completely matted so we had to shave him down. His hair has since grown back. He also had a fractured acetabulum (hip joint) when we took him out of the shelter but we have spent a lot of time and money to get that healed. We do not know the cause of his injuries - maybe he was hit by a car? We don't know. He seems to be doing fine on it now. The vet says he may or may not need FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery in the future...so his adopter would need to be okay with that possibility. Shadow is playful, likes other dogs, enjoys toys and always seems to have a smile on his face no matter what he is doing. He is crate trained and would probably house break quickly. He is getting neutered next week and will be ready for adoption right after; however we are taking applications NOW! This boy is 37 pounds and a ball of fun. He enjoys sitting quietly with you as well as playing interactive games. He enjoys long leash walks as well. Shadow is looking for an inside forever home where he will get all the attention he deserves. His wish list includes a large fenced yard that he could run and play in too! If you think this could be your home, you can download an adoption application at www.caresga.org and e-mail it back to us. $250 adoption fee plus additional donation which goes toward all his vet work for his leg, application approval and vet reference required. We DO adopt up north and all over the US so contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for details. Continue reading to see everything included with his adoption fee:
Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip as well as 30 days of free pet insurance is also included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
