My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Potsy-Bo was found in culvert the area of Nashville, TN known as 'Metro Center'. The dogs of Metro Center are well known in the rescue community....especially to the Nest's Momma Bird as she has been trying to catch one of them for almost 3yrs. But every once in a while a new dog appears in the area, either dumped or a stray that ran away from home. We will never now what Potsy-Bo's real story is, but we do know he is not one of the 'pack', when one of our friends that has been following the pack came across him over a week ago and he was friendly and not feral, she put him in her car and brought him home. Thank you Carrie for reaching out for help for this handsome fella. What ever life he had before now, we do know this life is now going to be nothing but good from this point forward.

Postsy-Bo is 45lbs, approx 8yrs old is the best guess of the veterinarians, it is really hard to tell his age because his teeth are worn down to the nubs from eating rocks or chewing on chains it what it looks like. He has a nasty gash on his head that is healing and pretty much is just plumb worn out and tired. The tips of his ears appear to have been eaten away by fly bites and are nothing but scars now...though we think the rounded appearance makes him look like a stuffed toy. He does have Grade 2 heart murmur, Stage 2-3 Heart Worms and a small mass on his abdomen. We had him neutered and vaccinated last week, thank you to our friends at the  Pet Community Center  for squeezing him in at the last minute. His neuter was no easy task since he had Cryptorchidism, and the one testi that has not descended was not easy to locate, so his surgery was a bit more entailed than the normal neuter surgery. He has been examined by our vets at  Animalia Health & Wellness  and we are going to proceed with Heart Worm treatment in 30 days after he has had a month of antibiotics and has rested a bit. The bloodwork on the mass on his stomach has not come back yet, so we wait and pray for good news.

As you can tell by the pictures, he is loving being inside a home and with other dogs. He is a gentle soul that has shown nothing but gratitude and appreciation for being rescued. He would not have fared well on the streets with the other dogs there is no doubt about it. More to come on this boy as we get to know him better and he progresses. In the meantime he is spending the Holidays with his foster family, making new friends and being smothered with love.

We can not continue to help dogs like Potsy-Bo and the many others like him without the generous support of our friends & followers. If you would like to sponsor his care and heartworm treatment, donations can be made directly to our vet or to our paypal acct:
