Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Selena a Beagle/Basset mix and I’m searching for my forever family. My foster parents told me this website was a good place to get started.
First of all I would like to thank BREW mid-west for saving my life and helping me out of the shelter. With out your help, I wouldn’t be here today. And thanks to all the generous people who helped sponsor me to pay for my medical expenses and my foster family for providing me shelter, love, and food.
You see when I first came to my foster home my health wasn’t that great. I wasn’t feed a very good diet which caused me to have fatty tumors and some bad teeth that had to be pulled. With the help of BREW I’m all better now and should live a long healthy life. All I need is a low fat diet and exercise to keep me healthy.
So here is what you need to know about me. I’m a very sweet, sociable, easy going Gal and I love everyone I meet. I like to go for leisurely strolls so I can enjoy all the smells and visit with people. One thing I don’t understand is why do I have to turn around when we go for walks? It takes me a few minutes to get me going the other direction so you will need patience walking with me. I love to be outside and spend most of my days outside sunning on the deck and watching the resident dogs chase squirrels and other critters. My foster daddy works from home so I can go in and out as I please during the day. Speaking of other dogs I get along with the 3 resident dogs in my foster home, but I’m not as wild and crazy as they are. I’m past the play stage and would rather snuggle next to a human and get love. O’ I just love my ears scratched, it just makes me melt. I’m not demanding of attention, all I have to do is set next to you and before long you will be snuggling me with love. I’m not afraid of thunder, fireworks, vacuum cleaners, or other load noises; as a matter of fact I can sleep or snore through anything.
As far as training goes, I’m learning to sit patiently for my dinner, I can sing and dance for food, and I’m potty trained to a doggy door. I used to go into my crate and sleep but now that I’m house trained I get to sleep on the coach or a dog bed. I know my name and come when called.
To sum it all up, I’m an easy going, happy go lucky Gal that loves car rides and going on adventures. I have been camping and it was lots of fun. I would be fine in a home with out a fence on a tie out or if you have a fenced yard I would love to just putter about. I would be fine as an only dog. I love everyone I meet of all ages. There is really nothing not to like about me.
If I sound like the companion beagle you have been searching for, fill out an application and my foster family can tell you more about me.
Love, Selena
Update: Selena is an excellent candidate for a therapy dog. She has visited our local nursing home several times. Selena brings a little sunshine and a smile to everyone she meets.
