Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**FOSTER LOCATION: RATHDRUM, ID** Gemstone was pulled from a kill shelter when she was very pregnant and they were going to euthanize her. We don't normally take it cats, but I didn't want her to die. She only gave birth to one stillborn kitten who was severely deformed. Unfortunately she was vaccinated in the shelter, which can cause deformities in kittens. So here she is. She's been here for 4 months.. without a home. Gemstone is someone who can turn a 'noncat person' into a 'cat person' in a heartbeat. She is a typical torti with a typical torti attitude. She's one who is lovey when she wants to be, but then she wants you to leave her alone. Gemstone loves to bat at the dogs when they least expect it, and then run under the table. She loves looking out the window, and staring at the birds on the birdfeeder. She gets along fine with dogs, and I think she would be okay with cats after they warm up to eachother. She LOVES babies, and will do well with children as long as they know how to respect her. She puts up with a lot, but will let them know when she's had enough. She still likes to pull down my tablecloth, but that's the only real issues I've had with her since she's been here. She is litterbox trained and still has her claws. She doesn't use a scratching post, but is learning that the couch isn't the place to sharpen her claws either. While Gemstone has been an outdoor cat before, she is NOT street smart and needs to go to an indoor only home OR a home that is indoor/outdoor but that is very far away from a road/other cats/ large neighbor dogs. She panics when she gets outside, and doesn't think about where she runs to. Other than that, she's a fantastic girl who needs her own family! She is spayed and vaccinated with Calicivirus, Rhinotracheitis, and Feline Distemper. She's also been vet checked. Her fee is $50.May 14, 2024, 12:10 am
