My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BELLA is a 3 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 66 pounds. BELLA and STAR came to us as a bonded pair. They are each more confident with the other close by. They were rescued from a southern shelter but the rescuer could not keep them and asked our local shelter for help. The shelter reports that the dogs are total sweethearts. Very sweet and loving and very happy when they get to go in the yard and play, whether it is with other dogs or interacting with people. While they may need a training refresh (will jump up when she is very excited but gets down as soon as you correct her) they like attention and seem to have been well treated in their past. They don't have any issues with being touched all over. Other barking dogs in the kennels didn't bother them and they stayed focused on me even when we were outside. Like to explore in the yard but stayed engaged with us. Probably someone has worked with them in the past on commands. Happy girls! From LR transporter: The girls made the trip with no problems; very quiet in car, one rested and the other kept tabs on me. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update:: Star and Bella have been fantastic house guests. You really can’t get any better than this bonded pair. They are the definition of “easy peasy”. They start their day off with breakfast. They aren’t shy about showing you how excited they are as they do their happy dance. After breakfast they go out to get some fresh air and roll in the grass (a favorite of Bella’s). Star prefers to smell the flowers. They both crate up perfectly when Foster Mama has to go to work. They have been left alone out of the crates and have done fine. They are true “couch potatoes” They are happy to find a dog bed and watch some tv with you. They are affectionate but don’t demand attention. They adore their human. They take treats very gently. They are excellent leash walkers and enjoy going for a daily walk. They have perfect house manners and enjoy several cat naps during the day.

Update:: Star and Bella have quickly adjusted to the routine at their fosters. The transition has seemed seamless for them. They are excellent!!! Very well behaved in the home with impeccable house manners. They find a dog bed and hang out. Outside, they love to roll in the grass and enjoy the day. They haven't quite caught on to the game of fetch yet. They sleep on dog beds in the fosters bedroom and you don't hear a peep until it is time to get up. They both love attention but don't pester for you it. Star is a little more shy and Bella is a little more independent. They both are not fans of the crate but will go in if you want them to. When left in the house they disturb nothing so they may not need to be crated. They are just easy peasy lovable dogs. They both take treats very gently. They know sit and come to you when you call their name. They do jump up when they are excited but respond very well to correction. Star has the most soulful gaze and Bella is more happy go lucky.

Update:: Star and Bella have arrived at their foster home! They met the resident pack and after a little bit of outside play, are enjoying an evening snoozing on their dog beds. More to come about this sweet pair!
