My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chiqui (a Spanish word meaning little guy) is a very sweet Italian Greyhound puppy around 6 months of age. He loves to be held, and greet you at the door. As a puppy he has three speeds - sleeping, full speed, and hyper speed. He loves to play with his brother and sisters, and as they get running around the yard they look like a tornado of dogs running circles, pulling tails, chewing on plants, and everything else puppies do. He hasn't had any kennel or leash training so a new home will have to help him with these. However, he has been pretty good at going potty outside, or on the piddle pads when he can't hold it long enough. Italian Greyhound puppies this small can usually only hold it for two hours at most, so they need constant attention to get them in the right habits and keep them improving. This little guy will be neutered in the middle of August, and then will be ready for adoption. We approximate based on his current size he will be around 13-15 lbs when full grown.

The parents and three siblings of this puppy all came from a Boxer Rescue in Rapid City, SD. Their former owners were put in a retirement home from what we are told. The dogs came to Nebraska when they were around 3 months old, and at the beginning of August were around 5 1/2 to 6 months old.

We are taking local applications for the puppies, and will give preference to those local applications due to the time and effort it takes to organize transports elsewhere. If you live in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South or North Dakota and are interested in adopting please drop us an email. IGs are not suited for families with small children due to their fragile bones, and ability to jump around when excited. May 6, 2024, 12:08 am
