Flash is approx. 2 yrs old and weighs 16 lbs. He was a stray, running loose in a neighborhood in Dec-Jan and in spite of many efforts to catch him he managed to elude everyone for A MONTH! He kept reappearing every day, several times a day, in the same neighborhood! Eventually we were able to trap him and bring him to safety but it literally took a village to bring this guy home! He was a mess with long, severely matted fur and underweight. We believe someone dumped him in the area he was found.
It was very apparent from the start he was TERRIFIED of human interaction. He did not want to be touched or held. He would "freeze" when touched but in spite of how afraid he was, he never bit anyone. So as you can imagine Flash is going to need a very special person with patience and understanding. He is a work in progress but deserves the chance to have a family of his own. We are looking for someone who will continue to work on his socialization and provide a safe, loving home. He still does not want to be touched or picked up.
He's very comfortable and trusting of other dogs and that is the reason we are requiring a home with another dog.
He is not house trained but will wear a male wrap / belly band so that is our recommendation for continuing his house training.
He is not crate-trained. He did not adjust well to being crated so he is not restricted in his foster home. He doesn't have any destructive behaviors or resource / food guarding issues.

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.
THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.
