My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mable's story just about breaks our heart. She was brought to our local shelter last summer in horrible shape emotionally. Heartbreakingly shy. She would crawl on leash and hide under whichever vehicle was closest to her. Would hardly make eye contact with us. After our shelter changed managerial hands in September we were no longer there to work with her. Come January of 2016 we received a message that Mable was on the 'kill list'. Why? Because she is shy was the response. We weren't gonna let her die because she was shy. We pull her from the shelter and were shocked by her appearance. She weighed only 42lbs...a big loss in weight from the last time we saw her in September. After a trip to the vet to rule out any underlying health issues for the massive weight loss it was determined by the vet that she was at least 10lbs underweight and that was due to her not receiving proper amounts of food at the shelter. She quickly put the weight back on and now weighs in the upper 50lb range. And, she has a BB lodged in her. :(
Fast forward to now...she is happy, wags her tail, LOVES to be petted (especially her belly) and eagerly seeks out attention from us humans. Walks great on leash is dog friendly with most dogs. Gets annoyed with annoying dogs. Great with kids and is not quite sure about cats. Seems more afraid of them than interested in eating them. Has a small ridge on her back which makes me think she may have some Rhodesian Ridgeback in her. Great dog who deserves an even greater life and family.
