My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky was surrendered to our local shelter with a pretty bad skin infection because his previous owners could not afford to treat him. The shelter started him on his path to recovery, but asked if we could take him in since it would be months before all his fur grew back in.

His skin is all better now and he is ready for a new home. He is probably around 2 years old and if full of energy and ready to play. He is great with people, but can come on a little too strong when meeting new dogs. He wants to play, but he can play a little rough and has no concept of personal space. Due to his prey drive and his love for chasing all things that run, we don't think he would be good in a home with cats.

We have discover that Rocky can jump a four foot fence, so his new owner will need to have a 6 foot fence or be willing to walk/exercise him on a leash. He is also thunder phobic and will need a new home that can work with him and provide a safe place for him to hide and ride out any thunderstorms.

We believe that Rocky was an outside only dog prior to coming into the rescue and he is still learning his house manners. He has made a lot of progress with crate training, but still needs a little encouragement in the form of a yummy treat to go in his crate.

If you would like to meet Rocky or any of our other foster dogs, please send us an email at gsdrescueofeasttn@gmail.com. Rocky's adoption fee is $250.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm and flea preventative and have been microchipped. We require all of our dogs to be kept as inside pets and we only adopt out within a 2 hour radius of Knoxville, TN.
