Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
CASSIE is an exceptional puppy! She is a light cream color that is almost white. She lives in a foster home with 2 children, 3 adult dogs and another pup so she has been socialized to the max. She gets along great with all the other dogs. True to her shepherd breed, she is smarter than the average bear. She knows she is supposed to potty outside, and is making fast strides in her house training. Her inquizitive nature makes her extra fun to be around. She follows her foster mom everywhere, but will nicely lay and watch her while she cooks or does other things around the house. When it's time for attention and affection , CASSIE is there in an instant. If anyone is getting petted, she has to be in the mix. She hasn't met any kitties, but since she is a smart puppy we know she can be trained to live in a home with cats. However, it will take commitment from her family, because (like any other puppy) she will see the the cat as a puppy friend. She will try to play with and chase the kitty at first. As of 4/28/16 CASSIE is 14 weeks old. She is now ready to travel to her forever family and fill their lives with an endless supply of puppy kisses.
CASSIE is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $325 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
