My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yes, I may have the look of a super model — lean, long legs, elegant frame (only 14 lbs.) — but without the attitude, thank heavens! I’m unofficially called a “chi-whippet,” which is part Chihuahua, part Whippet, and part FABULOUS. One of my best qualities? A lovely, white-blond fur coat which is soft to the touch, AND low maintenance, and light in the shedding category.

With the energy of a teenage girl at a dance, and the serenity of a yoga instructor, I can be your “run-around-town” companion, AND your “slug-butt” TV pal, all in one loving package. I’m outgoing and playful with people and other canines. Can’t say I have had much experience with cats. Probably, I could live with them without a quarrel. I enjoy my walks on leash (to keep my girlish shape and meet the neighbors.) Of course, I’m house-trained and crate-trained; after all, I’m 3-1/2 years old!

My background was less than ideal, but I had/have inner strength galore. Coming to the SD animal shelter as a pregnant young thing, I was so blessed to find a foster mom (with Little Rascals Rescue) who took me out of the shelter, and into her home. There, I gave birth to two lovely pups, who have since found wonderful families of their own.

Now that my “kids” are gone, I’m definitely seeking a lovely family of my own. Might you be that “family”? I sure hope you’ll come and see me in person soon. Otherwise, the longer I stay, the more my foster mom will be crushed to give me up….and frankly, I want her to keep her house “open” for other needy pooches like me….I’m THAT unselfish! How cool is that!!
