My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you someone that’s a bit shy and finds it difficult sometimes starting a conversation with strangers? Ever wish you had some way of helping you navigate new surroundings confidently? Perhaps you’re new to Charleston, or you’ve recently started a new workout regimen, or you’re getting back into the dating scene and you need a go-to icebreaker… Walter is definitely the dog for you!

This stunning boy turns heads where ever he goes and people can’t help but stop and ask about him. Just look at that face! He’s probably the most handsome boy at Hallie Hill, and though we try not to say that in front of him so he doesn’t get a big ego, we’re pretty certain he has already guessed it because he walks the property like he knows he’s something special. That gorgeous black and cinnamon colored coat is only upstaged by his trademark black-spotted tongue, which just adds to his photogenic charisma. And if his coat is any hint of his heritage, I have my money on Walter being an Irish Setter / Shephard mix.

He’s not all just good looks either – he’s got a really great disposition. He can be a bit shy at first, but he warms up nicely. He spends his days here at Hallie Hill running and playing with his friend Cinnamon in the back field. He does love a good squirrel chase too! Walter got to put his nose to work during an enrichment exercise a few months ago where dogs were being trained to search for hidden treats. Let’s just say he did better finding the treats that were handed to him, but he seemed to thoroughly enjoy the whole game of it.

Now, he doesn’t want you to think he’s all beauty and no brawn, so he’s willing to give his A-game bark at strangers, but quickly makes friends, especially if he sees that you know the person. He would probably like to join a family with other dogs, but if you want him to be your one and only – that’s cool too. He already walks well on a leash, so he’s ready to join you on your evening stroll around the neighborhood.

Did you all know that people who are walking or running with dogs are more approachable? Most people lose their shyness and fear and will approach someone with a dog and talk to them. Walter might just be the boost of confidence you need to get out there and mingle and trust us, he can charm the pants off anyone he meets!!!
