Hi Hallie Hill Friends! My name is Ruthie and if you can’t tell by looking at me, I’m a terrier/hound mix. So many people are looking for small dogs, or at least not large dogs. I’m right there in the middle – a medium, but a smaller medium – just about 35 – 40 lbs.
I’m one of the pampered ‘Patio Pack’ dogs here at Hallie Hill. I was part of the ‘Barn Dogs’ pack that roams the property throughout the day keeping everyone in line, but then some of the others started picking on me and I got scared, so they upgraded me to ‘Patio Pack’. I like it there because I can see who is coming and going and I get a pat on the head from most people. (See how I staked out my spot in the patio chair?) Now I’m the big dog on patrol! My two roomies are Rabbit and RayRay. I am the boss and they know it. They can't push me around. I am a super sweet little girl that knows how to get along with other dogs, as long as they are not mean to me.
I love people and get all excited when someone pays attention to me. Looking for a lap buddy? I’m in! I can sit in your lap or by your side and be loved. As much as I love my patio, I dream of one day enjoying the luxuries of an inside home too! Dog beds, toys, couch life, playing with my people, getting special treats, and all that extra special attention…isn't that what most dogs want? We don't really ask for much - just someone to love and care for us. And I would be a very easy girl to care for! I do have to take a small amount of medication every few days, but it's no big deal. Just give it to me in a treat and I will gulp it down. I would so enjoy being somebody's companion! I know my forever home folks are out there somewhere!
p.s. I’ve been to ‘PetSmart’ and now I’m hooked. It was a big outing for me, and I was a nervous at first, but the people there all want to rub and love on me and give me cookies! I’m ready for my next trip!
