My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ BEAU Male 2 Years and AVAILABLE - for more photos of BEAU please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/beau_2016.html ✰✰

BEAU is a BEAUtiful 2-year old, male Border Collie. He is very kind, pleasant and easy to be around. Sweet and loving doesn’t begin to describe this awesome guy. He weighs 67 lbs., is housebroken, loves to swim, doesn’t dig or try to escape, rarely barks, and seems to be a very happy sort. We’ve had a few of these love bug “larger” BC’s in rescue over the years. We tend to think of them as our Gentle Giants.

BEAU gets along well with other dogs, even obnoxious super-bossy alpha dogs who try to micro-manage his every move! When faced with another dog’s bad behavior, he just bows his head and quietly walks away ignoring confrontation. The ultimate diplomat and gentleman, is our BEAU. BEAU takes a similar approach with cats. After an initial smell or two, he has little interest in them and will co-exist quite peacefully with them.

BEAU’s approach to dealing with strangers coming into the yard or house is with an air of cautious optimism – he waits quietly for any sign of friendship or an invitation to approach. Being a people-pleaser, BEAU responds to any training/direction you may give him. He immediately responds to the word “No” and comes when you call him. He could use some further training, but if you didn’t get around to it, BEAU is pretty great just the way he is. He is still a little puppy-like and can bounce around the yard in youthful exuberance from time to time. He may be a little too bouncy to be left with toddlers but he is a kind and loving dog for older children.

While little is known about BEAU’s past life, he was “arrested” in cattle country for the “crime” of cow chasing so it would be prudent to keep livestock out of BEAU’s future. Otherwise, it seems BEAU would fit well into any variety of homes, really anywhere he will be valued and loved. He deserves the very best in a forever home because he is willing to give back his very best. BEAU is one fine, super-fine dog.

BEAU is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about BEAU, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

BEAU is being fostered in Loomis in Placer County, California.
