Updated bio 6-22-16 Cody is a 1-year-old, 12 lb. Yorkie male being fostered in Richmond, Virginia. Cody's adoption fee is $550 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Cody by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.
Cody’s personality is like a laid-back surfer dude. He is totally content following his people from room to room, playing and being loved on. He likes going for walks and will run around the yard but
he mostly likes to chill with his people. His fur is soo soft and when it gets a little long on the forehead he reminds me of the Berenstain Bear illustrations in the children’s books. Cody best forever home would be one with another dog as a playmate but no cats. School aged children and older would also be okay.
Hi, it’s me Cody. I am so thankful to be well. I appreciate everyone who has donated to help my healing from my liver shunt surgery and my continued care. I am happy to say that my last liver check went well. It looks like I am getting better everyday. I will be due for a follow up check in six months in order to see if I need to continue my prescription diet. I am no longer on any medications and have no other medical restrictions. I like to romp, wrestle, and run around with my foster sister. I like playing with a few favorite toys but I don’t play fetch. I do very well on walks and I love visiting the children in the neighborhood and getting attention from them.
I am almost potty trained. I rarely pee on the potty pads but I use them exclusively for pooing. The special food that I am on makes it hard for me to be on a schedule for pooing yet. I am very good going pee outside in the yard when I am reminded to “go potty.” I am starting to learn “sit” though sometimes I lay down instead. I am good at being home alone for short periods of time and at night. I have a crate for when I’m left a little longer.
My foster mom wants to say just a little more about me and the cost of my care.
Cody has come such a long way since his surrender. His surgery and treatments are estimated to cost around $3000.
