I am a female classic gray tabby/tuxedo, and I came from a home with 49 cats and 5 dogs! My best friend Tiffany and I were lucky enough to find a foster home together along with our 7 (!) kittens. Tiff and I are so close, we nursed each other’s kittens! I was a wonderful Mom, but it was a lot of work so I’m happy to be spayed now. (I’m also vaccinated and microchipped, and I tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS.)
While I’m definitely looking forward to some quieter times without my rambunctious kids, I’m only about 2 years old and still enjoy the occasional romp; laser lights are my favorite! I’m also very content curled up in a window seat or snuggling with Tiff. I like attention and affection and am happy just to be near you, but I won’t climb all over you (how rude!) My foster moms say I’m “serene.” I would love a relatively quiet home full of love, with lots of chin/cheek rubs and head scratches; I’ll pay you back in purrs and leg rubs, and I’ll greet you when you come home. If things get too hectic, I may retreat under a bed for a while, but I’ll come out quickly at the shake of a treat bag! While I’m not really used to being held (49 other cats, remember?), I’m working with my foster moms to get more used to it.
As for personal habits, I’m super easy to care for. I don’t mind being brushed and I always use my litterbox. I tolerate having my claws clipped, if you go slow and are gentle and calm. I love both wet and dry food (I sure hope I don’t get fat!) While I don’t want to go back to a home with 49 other cats, I do like company and would truly love to be adopted with my dear friend, Tiffany.
To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an
adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
