My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola who is looking for a new start on life. She was turned into a shelter after giving birth to 5 puppies and she is just a puppy herself. She was infested with every parasite
including heartworms. A good Samaritan family adopted her and her puppies in January and all was well until the puppies found their forever homes. Then mama Lola started getting more energy and just played too hard for the 5 children ages 8 and under. Rather than dump the dog back into a shelter this good Samaritan contacted PRBCR and offered to surrender the dog so Lola could find a home more appropriate to her needs. We now have Lola as our foster furry friend near Burlington, NC, and she is a beautiful svelt 52-pound 2 1/2 year old BC/ Setter mix with ebony-black curly hair and the typical BC white on chest, shoulder and tip of tail. She has green flecks in her eyes that don't show up in pictures but make her look
even more adorable. Lola walks well on lead, has great recall, is house trained, crate trained, rides well in vehicles, is good with cats and other dogs. Not recommended for younger
children because of her exuberance but would do well with teens as she loves to romp. Lola is halfway through her heartworm treatment recovery period and doing well. She is UTD
on vaccines, micro-chipped and on monthly heartworm preventative. We are hoping to get her spayed the week of 13 June so she will be ready to go to her forever home the end of
June. Lola says; "I must warn you! Meeting me is loving me". We concur. As good as the first impression she makes is, she just gets better over time. Please visit the website at www.prbcr.org
