My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carly is 4 year old, Terrier/Lab Mix.  Little Carly is a great example of a dog who gets overlooked at the shelter. Not very big, kind of blackish, not the first one to the front of the run, and evidence of having pups. When we pulled her out of the run, we were surprised to see that her coat is a beautiful rich espresso brown with black lowlight s, and her personality is equally delightful! This little girl is the kind of dog that always deserves to make it out of the shelter, and into someone's arms, but frequently does not.

Cuddly and affectionate, Carly is the sweetest dog in the room. The perfect size dog for any apartment and/or quiet family, weighing in at only 40 pounds, this little pup will fall in love with everyone. Calm and serene, yet smitten, Carly is much more interested in your affection than in playing. When Carly first arrived at the jail she was nervous and scared. Now, the handlers report that Carly loves the safe space in her crate, and is really coming out of her shell in the jail environment. She loves playing with toys, other dogs, and especially humans. Carly would be the perfect pup for someone that likes to take pleasant walks and curl up on the couch.

As is typical of dogs her age in the shelter, Carly is heartworm positive. Don't let that hold you back, because Canine CellMates will be paying for her heartworm treatment. Ready for your very own CCM lovebug??? Carly is waiting for you!

Canine CellMates dogs are trained in items similar to the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. They learn basic obedience and commands such as sit, down, stay, etc.  If you are interested in adopting Carly, please fill out an adoption application at www.caninecellmates.org, and email it to adopt@caninecellmates.org.
