My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the beautiful and sweet Delilah! This little lady captured our heart during a recent intake at Animal Care and Control where we heard about a pit bull puppy in need of some TLC. She did not have the easiest start at life when, as a young puppy, Delilah had a bump on the left side of her jaw. The bump made her unable to open her mouth fully, thus affecting her abilty to get nutrition in her little body. Animal Control asked if we could please take her on and we found ourselves with quite a little gift!

After some vet care, the bump was taken care of and all that remains is a small scar on her left cheek. However, this girl is resilient and she soon started to show that not only was she full of spunk, she also exhibits an "old soul" personality that is very rare in puppies. Her quite demeanor and focused attention are just a few of her many qualities. Everyone that meets Delilah falls in love!

This squishy pitty loves to crawl into your lap, if given the chance, and she is also very fond of giving gentle kisses. She is currently in a foster home where she is learning to come out of her shy shell. She loves treats, tug of war and playing with other dogs (big dogs should be introduced at her pace as she does not know quite what to make of them.) She is very people-focused and aims to please as much as possible.

An ideal family for this cuddle bug is one who is comfortable showing her the ropes and will help her to feel confident and loved in new situations. We'd prefer a family with some pit experience. Since she is a puppy, she will need a regular schedule to help her adjust to a schedule - this includes mid-day potty breaks. Delilah is (mostly) housebroken, crate trained and knows a few basic commands. She is cat friendly as well.
