My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 6/23/16 Scooter is a very sweet, 10 year young, little 7 pound Yorkie boy. Scooter is being fostered in Seminole, FL. Scooter's adoption fee is $150 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Scooter by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page

Hi, it’s me Scooter – I want to tell you that so much has happened in just 3 days. I got a bath, went to the vet, got a new foster family including a foster fur sister. I am in a new home, I have my stuff in this new house but I liked sitting in my crate. The foster mom in this new home appears to be nice. As a matter of fact I barked and she didn’t let me go outside so I decided to go number 2 in my crate. I could have gone on her floor because the door to the crate is open but I was scared. My bark didn’t mean anything to her but that sure changed after seeing me going potty in my crate. Boy, that sure got her attention! Guess what? I thought she was going to be mad but she just pulled me out and told me I was a sweet boy and took me outside. I thought I was really going to get it but she was so nice to me, so I decided to sit outside my crate in my new foster sister’s bed - she doesn’t sit in it much since she is usually in Foster Mom or Dad’s lap.

I’ve only been here a few days but Foster Mom already took me to see the Doggster, who cut my very long nails. That part felt good but not all the shots I got. My foster mom says now I don’t have to worry about getting sick. The Doggster said I was in good health except for my knees but lots of us Yorkies have problems with our knees. He said I needed to come back and get my teeth cleaned. Then when I got home they gave me flea and heartworm medicine so I don’t have to worry about that either.

I am now sitting in my own bed because my foster Mom gave me a few new toys in my bed. She picks me up and talks to me every now and then. My Foster Sister says I can’t sit on the sofa with Foster Mom but Foster Mom picks me up and puts me on her lap anyway – I don’t feel real comfortable with her but I am liking her more and more. She gave me some treats. Let’s see …. treats, new toys, nice soft voices, I am feeling better about this every hour I am here. I now am lying in my bed looking at her. She seems to like it when I sit up and look at her when she talks to me. She told me I was going to go see her grand dogs for a few days next week. She said they are big dogs so I will have to stay in the fenced in play area she has for me and my foster sister. She said she would bring my bed and I hope she brings those treats too!! I think I am going to like it here, but she says she will get me another nice new home someday. I like it when she talks to me. Maybe my foster sister has the right idea sitting in her lap –maybe it’s a good thing. I’ll just sit right here in my bed and think about it for a while. I’ll let you know of any more new adventures in a week or two.

Also if you think you would like to adopt a very sweet, but shy fellow like me, please put in an adoption application because I am really the most perfect guy. Just takes me a little while to get over my shyness, but when I do, I am the bomb!!
