Working on crate training
Fostered in Rathdrum, ID
Hi HI HI! My name is Junebug and I came to Power of the Paw after I was found as a stray and no one came to claim me. Such a sad situation, but here I am, off to a bigger and better life. Whoever had me didn't give me near the love and attention I desperately needed. But, I'm learning here that I don't have to be obnoxious in order to get attention.
I haven't had any accidents in my crate, but foster mom takes me out often and makes sure I go potty outside. Being a puppy, I need to be reminded to go out often, so that I don't have accidents. When I first got here, I didn't know what a crate was. I'm learning that a crate is a good thing and it's a place to relax and be mellow. I LOVE food, so I'm very easy to train. I already know sit, and I'm working on Stay and Down. I love food so much, that I'll eat until I almost burst, so make sure I'm fed on a schedule so that I don't overfill myself.
Leash manners? Well, that's a work in progress. Leashes are a new thing to me so I'm fighting them with they tighten up. It shouldn't take long for me to learn that walking on a leash is a positive thing. Just take me on lots of walks and I'll learn with lightening speed. I promise.
Overall, foster mom says I'm really a smart puppy who just needs a leader to teach me the ways of life. She's quite impressed with how quickly I've learned the things I have, in such a small amount of time. I'd love it if you had lots of time to spend with me. Please remember I am a puppy, and I don't come perfect. If you are interested in meeting me, go to http://powerofthepaw.org/adopt/dog-adoption-application/ and fill out an application!
