McCain has made lots of progress since our initial report! Her “dance of joy” is a sight to behold – we are honored with a dance when she greets us in the morning, and again when we get home from work in the evening. She sleeps in a wire crate fitted with a nice soft pillow covered in flannel, and she goes in with a minimum of fuss. She needs her blanket and her stuffy with her, and she is very possessive of both items. These are probably the first things that she has ever had to call her very own. We have had some beautiful weather for walking lately, and McCain did very well on the leash – she was a perfect little lady. I suspect that this will change as her confidence grows! We have started working on stairs. So far, McCain’s record is two up and two down, with only 13 to go until she achieves independence! She will go through the door to come back inside the house about half the time now, and she has only occasional accidents in the house. Micki comes to us freely for scritches, but she still doesn’t care to sit in laps. We still have to catch her to take her outside, put her in her crate, etc. Micki loves to play ball and is a fetching machine. She is blossoming into quite the little Cairn. This is one fabulous little furkid!
