Ivan has been feeling much better. He's put on a little weight, and is looking much better too. His hair is coming in and he is going to have a wonderful hard reddish coat when it fully grows out. His personality is also coming out. He is quite the character who is very inquisitive and sure of himself. Ivan is quite talkative and if he is not talking to you, he sometimes talks to himself! I hear him on the deck making his growly noises and little yaps. He is very outgoing and full of himself. I think he would like a home without any other dogs or a female for a sister. I see him trying to be head of the pack here which tries the patience of our male Cairn. Ivan weighs in at fifteen pounds and doesn’t realize that our Henry just about makes two of him. He gets along great with the girls. Ivan travels marvelously and is a wonderful travel companion. He will do almost anything for a treat. We recently found out that he can dance, along with knowing how to sit, lay, come, and race to his crate when I say “time for bed.' He is sitting in his crate waiting for his bedtime snack when I arrive in the bedroom. When it is time to eat, he runs to his feeding spot and it looks like he is sitting at “Attention” waiting for his dish. He will make a marvelous companion with his personality plus. He is ready for adoption and all he requires are some drops/ointment in his eyes daily and medicated baths to continue until his skin condition clears. He is very good about getting his baths and drops. Of course, do not forget the treat afterwards. Another terrific thing about Ivan - he is totally housebroken! We leave him loose with the other dogs while we are away without any problems. So if you put your application in for him soon, you can watch the transformation of this little guy into a handsome Cairn you can be proud of.
