Starting out in a snowstorm on a Friday morning, traveling through four states with two 'bed and biscuit' overnight stays, in the company of three other Cairns and with the help of many wonderful volunteers, our new foster girl, Hedy, finally arrived at our home the first Sunday in December. She was very hesitant at first to come out of her crate but is getting braver by the hour; venturing out now to check out her surroundings and mingle with her Cairn foster brothers and sister. Hedy is starting to play with her foster siblings and enjoys napping under the desk as I sit by the computer. Having recently come into the Col. Potter family from a breeding facility, two-year-old Hedy deserves to spend the rest of her life relaxing, napping and playing.
Hedy is a shy, quiet, 14 pound gray brindle girl with an adorable face and sweet disposition. She loves to be held and will lay on my lap at night while we sit on the sofa. Hedy also enjoys walking in the backyard and will roll in the snow; burrowing and rubbing her face until she comes up with a white beard and white eyebrows. You can't help but laugh at her antics. Hedy sleeps quietly in her crate at night, which has been kept clean and dry. She is starting to learn what toys are for, what good things treats are and how to go potty outside.
