My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brigid is a dear little girl whose past year has been shaky; her owner died, she was confiscated by Animal Control and hid in her run at the shelter. A fellow rescuer pulled her when she saw how frightened she was and that it did not improve after a few weeks.

After a shave (she was a giant dreadlock) and a bath(that water was just as black as she was), she just bloomed in our arms and she has been gaining confidence every day. My alpha female leaves her alone and while she gets along with the other 3 dogs, she does not seek them out to play. She will growl if another dog approaches her toys, but will not be aggressive.

She is a very sweet Cairn with genes that look like puppy store breeding--bowed legs that will look better when her coat grows out and a 'gay' tail that curves over her back. She scampers around without any hindrances, but her forever family will need to be sure that she does not gain weight and put added stress on her front legs. Brigid is a svelte 11 pounds and she has those big Cairn eyes to melt you with and a little button nose to make her totally irresistible!
She rarely barks and will occasionally talk to you. She's a great Cairn-crate trained and house broken and I can't wait for her coat to grow out!
