My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's a flicker in the distance Where a single candle glows And another walking with us Who knows If we ever make it home They'll be peace like we've never known Nobody's gonna walk alone We'll be leaning on each other Loving one another - from 'If We Ever Make It Home' by Wade Bowen
Our sweet boy Wade is almost there...home. He survived the streets and then went on to survive in a high kill southern shelter. He made it into rescue and the loving arms of a foster where he has thrived. Wade is a 6-7 month old cream colored Lab/Shepherd mix who currently weighs 35 lbs. We believe he will be around 50 lbs once full grown. This precious pup loves to play. He is great with other dogs and is curious towards cats insofar as he wants them to play with him. He is very respectful of them and will leave them alone if they swat at him. Wade absolutely adores his humans of all sizes. He thinks belly rubs are the bomb diggity and will be sure to show his gratitude with lots of loving puppy kisses. Wade is crate trained and just about completely house trained. This will pass once he has gained more confidence in his surroundings and routine. He tends to be shy and submissive at first meeting but once he knows all is safe and he is with good people then his sweet fun loving personality is out there for all to see and enjoy. His foster mom says he is just a lot of fun to be with. He is still learning some basic commands and getting the hang of walking on a leash but always strives to please so he'll have it down in no time at all. Wade is already neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, micro chipped, and current on preventatives. He has come to know that life is good with caring humans and he's ready to complete his journey by finding his forever loving home. We know this little guy will indeed make it home and he will never walk alone again. He will know the peace and security being loved and ng back. The question is... will you be the one who shows him that he has finally made it home? Our Liam is a big believer in acts of kindess! After all, he owes everything to his foster mom whose act of kindess saved him from the shelter! Liam aspires to be like his foster mom and pass along acts of kindness where he can. He'll let you know he is happy to see you with the steady thump of his tail, he'll cheer you up if you feel lonely by showering you with kisses, and his infectious smile will brighten your day if you are feeling down! Liam is a 52 pound lab/hound mix brimming with love and joy to share with the world. He loves every one, dogs, cats, and kids included! (Although we do recommend sturdy kids 10 and over as he is a strong, energetic boy still working on his manners!) Liam is not quite 2 years old, crate-trained, housebroken, and eager to learn. Some of the things he is learning in foster include leash manners and kenneling on command. He is gentle and sweet, but sometimes he doesn't know his own strength...especially when he sees a squirrel! Our special boy is everything a companion should be. He will charm your friends, loyally stay by your side and eagerly await your next adventure.

PUPPIES GROW INTO the expectations of their families through consistent love, caring and training. Puppies cannot be adopted to homes where they are left alone for more than 3-4 hours. Families with children must have established boundaries for both the puppy and the children.
PLEASE REMEMBER: The specific breed of any dog abandoned to a shelter is an informed guess by seasoned rescuers in agreement with their veterinarians.
