My story

Meet Puncher. This guy has had a rough past! He was confiscated by Animal Control in a cruelty case. Puncher had been starved, had very little fur and it appears duct tape was used to tape his mouth shut. Those days are long gone, though, and now he is a very happy-go-lucky boy. Puncher can be playful, is quite the ladies' man (female dogs love him & vice versa) and once you're in his circle, he'll protect you with his life if danger is sensed.  He is not handsome in the traditional sense but his beauty lies in his confidence and ability to make people smile in clowning around. Puncher is neutered, up to-date on vaccines and microchipped. A forever family would make his life be what every dog's should be about...could that be you?

Additional adoption info

We believe our dogs and puppies deserve the best homes, so all prospective adopters must have good references and agree to a home visit. All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered. An adoption fee is charged to help defray veterinarian and other expenses. We have promised our babies that they will never have to worry again, so adopters will sign a contract agreeing to take good care of the animal, and if an adoption doesn't work out for any reason, the animal MUST be returned to Barkie's Legacy.

More about this rescue

We've rescued stray dogs or those in high-kill shelters whose time is up and adopt them out to loving homes. We are amazed at the amount of dogs that are unwanted, unloved or abused, so we're trying to make a difference one dog at a time!
