My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ “Mustang” SALLY Female 1 year and AVAILABLE - more photos of SALLY will be available shortly at http://norcalbcrescue.org/sally_2016.html ✰✰

SALLY is a smooth coat Border collie mixed with some American Pit Bull Terrier, some cattle dog, perhaps a dash of spaniel and maybe even some lab, something we call a Tehama County Purebred. Whatever the recipe, the sum of her parts makes her one good looking and awesome gal. The staff at the shelter adored her. When I took her to the vet the entire staff fell in love with the way she cuddled up to me, made her way around the office giving kisses to anyone who wanted them, and took treats gently from their hands. They poked her with needles for vaccines and her microchip and she didn’t react at all; she was totally chill through the whole exam.

SALLY came to us spayed, and it was obvious she was fed well. At 59 lbs. she could stand to lose some weight. She is getting lots of exercise to help her do just that. She is a very active girl who will need room to run so she can burn off all the energy she stores up. SALLY would be fine as an only dog or with others. She gets along great with all of our dogs (2 male, 3 females) and pretty much ignores our cats. SALLY is house and crate trained. While a little reluctant to go into her crate, she quickly settles down. She sleeps quietly in her crate overnight, not stirring until we come out to start the day. Mostly she likes playing and lying quietly next to her foster dad while he sits at the computer (like now as I write this bio). She is mildly interested in toys.

SALLY is a very smart & gentle young lady who should be easy to train as she is both praise and food motivated. She knows sit, and we are working on crate, down and come. She needs the most work with “off” as she does like to jump up on people in her excitement to be petted and loved. SALLY travels well. She’ll hop right into the crate and settle down for the ride. SALLY was put on this earth to love and be loved.

SALLY is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about SALLY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

SALLY is being fostered north of Corning in Tehama County, California.
