My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARRY IN WICHITA, KANSAS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

NATIONAL BRUSSELS GRIFFON RESCUE, INC. is just wild about HARRY who is being fostered in a private home near KANSAS CITY and you will be too! So don't tarry and vote for Harry as your new life companion! Yes, we stole a few of Harry Truman's campaign slogans because like him, our Harry's indomitable and optimistic spirit makes him a winner!

This 2-3 yr. old, 10.8 lb. happy go lucky little man faces life head on with a smile on his face and a song in his heart despite the sad path which led him to NBGR!

Harry was found in deplorable shape as a stray in a rural area. He was under weight, filthy, covered with fleas, and his coat was so matted that feces became embedded in the matts. The shelter's groomer donated her services to remove the nasty stinky matts, which immediately made Harry feel and look much better.

The matts had been on him so long he developed skin infections, but the local vet quickly put him on antibiotics, and it was not long before he was good as new once again! No one came looking for the little guy and the shelter had no ID to track down his previous owner, so Harry eventually made his way to NBGR.

It is obvious that at some point in Harry's life he was well loved and socialized, because despite all this little guy has gone through, he has emerged as a happy, loving, energetic little man who loves life, adores everyone he meets, charms the pants off everyone lucky enough to make his acquaintance, gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home, and loves older respectful children over the age of 10!

Harry walks well on lead, is a well behaved little car rider, and is quickly brushing up on his house breaking skills! He loves to cuddle, is the perfect companion sleeping in the big bed at night, and is the first one to greet his foster family when they walk in the door!

What more could you ask for in your next life companion? Harry has it all, and he is very eager to say "The buck stops here! Let's get back on this roller coaster called life and share the ride of a life time with me!" Harry promises you won't be sorry!

He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested heart worm negative, is on monthly heart worm preventative, and micro chipped. His teeth are in good shape with no need for a dental at this time.

We never place dogs in homes reliant on electric or invisible fencing to contain pets. Fencing of this type may or may not keep a dog in the yard, nor does this type of fencing protect pets from predators, free roaming dogs, or people who may enter the yard. Should there be a power outage, the fence would be rendered useless. If a pet were to panic and run through the barrier and take an electrical jolt from the fence, that pet would not be inclined to return home, and could be lost forever.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
