My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial bio 8-15-16 Abigail is a precious 12-pound yorkie mix. She is only 4 years old. Abigail is being fostered in Bunnell, FL. Abigail is looking for someone to love and care for her once again.

Abigail's adoption fee is $395 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Abigail by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

When Abigail's owner was evicted from his apartment Abigail also found herself without a home. She ended up with her owner's sister who was really not able to take care of this once happy, loved girl. She now spent her days confined to a crate sleeping on newspaper. No doggie bed, no love, no kisses, no more cuddles, and no one to care about her anymore.

How could United Yorkie Rescue let her continue to live like that? Answer: They couldn't. Abigail is now safe and loved in her foster home. She had a nice warm bath. Her hair was shampooed; it took 3 times for the water to run clean. After her conditioning treatment her beautiful curly coat is soft and smells so good.

Abigail will have a vet visit very soon to get updated on her vaccinations, get heartworm tested, and arrange for her spay and possible dental. The vet will also need to trim Abigail's toenails. They are so long they are starting to curl under. Abigail will also get her grooming soon. In April this little girl delivered 8 puppies! United Yorkie Rescue will make sure that never happens again.

Although Abigail has only been in her foster home a short time her foster mom said she has not had a single accident in the house and has done all her business outside. She is getting along just fine with her foster fur sisters and she loves having a soft doggie bed to lie down in. She especially loves the love and attention she is now getting.

Abigail will be ready to be adopted after her vaccinations and her spay is healed. We are not yet sure what kind of a family she will need, but she is a very gentle, loving dog so a family with older children, over the age of 13, and maybe another dog to play with might be the right one for adorable deserving Abigail.

More to come on Abigail as her foster mom gets to know her better and she has had her vet visit and her grooming.
