My story

Hi, I'm Tessa! I'm a fun-loving senior - full of friendly licks and playful energy! I love playing in the water during the hot summer days! I also enjoy retrieving tennis balls - and I'll chase (and bring) them as long as you'll keep throwing them. I'm currently living with a foster family in the Alachua County area. I love to run and play - and would enjoy agility training!

I have a mixed history with other dogs. I seem to prefer younger males, but they can also get on my nerves a bit. So, I'd do best as an only-dog - and probably wouldn't be a good "dog park" dog... I'm loyal, loving and house-trained. I have a little storm phobia - I just want a safe place to hide and hunker down (like a dog crate) when I hear thunder, gun shots or fireworks.

Please call or send a text message to Jody at (352)316-5155 to hear more of my story or email her for an application 2ndChRescue@gmail.com... Thank you!

Why adoption is a great option

Tessa, a Orange Lake Australian Kelpie/Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Kelpie/Bull Terrier for sale in Orange Lake, or seeking a Australian Kelpie/Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Orange Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orange Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orange Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Kelpie/Bull Terrier breeders who help with Australian Kelpie/Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orange Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
