Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Queenie is a 12 year old purebred Dachshund that was rescued from a shelter in Owosso. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and she has had her teeth cleaned.
Queenie is listed as Special Needs because she has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease. Cushing's causes an over abundance of Cortisol in the body and makes dogs extremely thirsty and hungry. They also develop a pot bellied appearance and poor haircoat.
Queenie takes a special medicine called Vetoryl for her condition and is doing well.
We are looking for a loving adoptive home or a Forever Foster for her.
She needs to be seen for frequent blood work to make sure the Vetoryl is working well and to check her liver function.
Queenie is a very loving older girl. She prefers to be the only dog but will tolerate a dog larger than her. We have no idea how she would deal with a cat. We prefer a quiet home for her with No children. A fenced yard is a Must.
All of her medications and trips to the vet (Birmingham Vet Clinic In Birmingham) will be paid for by the rescue. All you have to do is supply love and care for this sweet girl. Contact Marie at 248-613-0824 for more info or email your contact info. PLEASE NO TEXTS. Thanks!
