Mickey's Story...
Hi there! I’m Mickey and I’m a 12-year-old Chihuahua. I’m a little guy at just 5 pounds. I’m looking for a chill forever home to live out my golden years. It wouldn’t hurt if there was a good lap and great scratchers in my forever home since those are some of my favorite activities. I’m house trained but tiny so I do need to go out more frequently than your average dog. I am crate trained and walk nicely on my leash. I’m find around other dogs but my foster mom hasn’t seen me around cats or kids. I do have mild cataracts but they don’t hold me back. As long as my people keep up with my vet care, I’m cool. I am up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt me here: adoption-application/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Grand Rapids Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
