Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Please read our eligibility requirements and apply on our website: www.ildoberescue.com/adopt. After application is submitted, additional inquiries can email PlusDogs@ILDobeRescue.com
Theodore is one of 5 dogs that IDR+ rescued from a hoarding situation that had over 30 dogs in one house. He is a 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie who weighs just under 10 pounds. Despite where he came from, he is relatively happy and social guy with people once he gets used to them. Some sounds and things scare him, but he feels safe in his crate. He would benefit from training to boost his confidence. Like many toy breeds, Theodore has a “little man” complex around other dogs. When he first arrived, he didn’t mind other dogs, but now that he has settled in a foster home, he acts like he wants all of the attention to himself. He is working on housebreaking, but he is making progress. Theodore is in pretty good shape, but he needs a dental to fix up his neglected teeth. He has no history with cats or kids, and we are recommending older kids for him since he doesn’t seem to appreciate younger kids’ sudden moves and sounds.
