My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What does Buck-Buck like to do? He likes to do what YOU like to do! Folding laundry, he's there. Taking out the garbage? He's right by your side. Need to fetch the mail? He's been looking forward to that all day! Buck is a dog's dog. And I mean that in the most with the utmost respect. He's all those things you like about dogs. Steadfast and loyal he is the perfect companion. Patiently waiting by your side, he is grateful for even the smallest pat.

But he hasn't always had a happy life. He spent all of his years (he's about 5), up until recently, chained up in a very lonely back yard. Check out his freedom ride video attached. No more chains for sweet Buck!
He is oblivious to creature comforts…again, up until recently. He's taken to the couch right nicely now. He also hasn't ever had the benefit of being an inside dog. He does know that he is not to "go" in the house, but he is just learning basic commands. Is there such a thing as a soft-spoken dog? If so, he's that guy.

Happily, he was not an abused dog, just very neglected. He possesses a sweet nature and is very calm. He doesn't mind being by himself, though he would certainly prefer to do whatever you are doing. Buck does very well with other dogs, cats and children…but interestingly, he really does not care for tall men. He is not aggressive, but growls and barks. This seems to be specifically isolated to tall men, he is otherwise very submissive towards people. When redirected, he settles down right away.

Buck, we like to call him Buck-Buck, is available for adoption. Weighing in at about 65lbs, he's a on the short and stocky side. Neutered and fully vetted, he still is getting past some skin issues, good nutrition and regular baths will be important. He is a very low maintenance dude. A dog's dog. The kind of dog that would love nothing more than to sit by your side, forever.
