Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This old fellow (about 13 years old) found himself homeless when his owners divorced. He then spent time in a temporary home - -- - and was then shifted here. Daniel was very nervous and unsure of himself when he first arrived at Almost Heaven. He suffered from a severe case of separation anxiety, which took months and the use of special equipment to overcome. Sadly, that behavior reappears whenever his surroundings here change.....and so we have permanently assigned him his "special place". Daniel is fed separately - he is a Senior - he should not be forced to compete with other dogs in order to eat - - -and he can be food aggressive with other dogs. Daniel does fraternize with a wide variety of canine companions- young, old, big, and small - - - - and he does fine with all of them as long as food or treats are not involved. Daniel has a reconstructed knee cap - - - - so, though he needs physical exercise, jumping should be discouraged. We have found Daniel to be very loving and sweet with people but can be choosy with his canine companions. If you would like to be considered as a forever home for Daniel, please submit an application. Daniel may require the same special setup we have for him here...and may need more time and patience than usual to adapt.
Approved applicants only are invited out to meet the dogs. You can find our application on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retirever-rescue.org) Emailing it will get the fastest response.
