My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Malika was said to be a stray.  She was brought to the county shelter on 11/7 by a man who said that she had been hanging around his house for two weeks and that he couldn't afford to feed her.  He had her in a plastic crate in the back of his pickup truck.  The shelter had no room, and the man was NOT going to take this dog home, whether she was a stray or his own.  So ARF took her in, even though she had to go to boarding.  She received her DHLP and strongid dewormer before she left the shelter. By the following day, she had become a favorite of the boarding staff!  Even though she probably had never worn a leash before, in just one day she had learned that it wouldn't hurt her and that she got to go outside when she put it on! She is smart and good natured and a regular love-bug.  When the office manager's children came to visit, they loved playing with Malika and she stretched out with them on the floor.  Malika is about 7-8 months old and probably part Norwegian.  However, she must be mixed with something smaller, for she only weighs 20.6 pounds.  She can be held like a baby, turned over on her back for belly rubs, and cuddled and loved.  She's all in!  What a great friend and family member Malika will be for some lucky family!
