My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING

Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.

My name is Maddy and I am a 6 year old female Maltese mix who was abandoned in a hotel room by my previous owners who didn't want to care for me anymore. It was really scary and confusing but some nice Animal Control Officers came to help me and took me to the really nice people at NBS Animal Rescue. I am now living in a super wonderful foster home who loves me and takes great care of me.

I am a very playful and energetic little lady who loves to play with toys, romp with other playful and friendly dogs, and snuggle on your lap when I get tired. I am doing well learning how to potty outside but I'm not quite 100% there yet. I like to walk on a leash and explore my foster home neighborhood and I love to play with toys - they are my favorite.

I am looking for a home that will take great care of me, love me, and give me lots of opportunities to romp and play. I would love a home that had a fenced back yard that I could play in, a home with kids 10+ older as quick movements and loud noises tend to scare me, and a family who was home often to give me lots of love.

My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?

These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 10yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard.

If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
