My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

December 2016: Zula is a gorgeous girl, don’t you think? She is a petite and beautiful one year old girl who is 32 lbs. She is a happy young girl, graceful like a gazelle as she races around the shelter yard! She leaps high in the air and every day is a new adventure for Zula! She loves to play with tennis balls and is a great walking companion. She appreciates every ounce of exercise to channel her abundant energy. She would likely be a great running companion, agility or flyball star. She already knows all about agility equipment, goes up and down the ramps and then relaxes under the stairs. The vets and rescuers think she is a Feist mix; her brindle coat is just stunning. She is friendly and sweet to everyone she meets. She is a smart girl who will already sit for a treat, shake hands and loves a new challenge.

Our partner shelter uses the Meet Your Match Evaluation and Zula qualified as Orange – Goofball! “I’m a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half full kind of dog looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around. Must have a great sense of humor and some time to spend with me. I’m on a mission to please you.”

This special girl is waiting to meet you. Zula has been to doggy day care and is having a blast. She is very affectionate and loves to be petted. They have not seen her with children but they think her energy might make her too exuberant for tiny kids but perfect for older ones who will tire her out playing ball.

They tested her with some shelter cats and she chased them. She did not appear aggressive, but playful, but this would take some training to work through since not all cats want to be pestered.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
