Daphne's Story...
Meet Daphne. She has a story to tell. Her previous owner took her into a local Veterinarian here in town to have her euthanized. He told the vet several things only one of which was true and the rest not so much. We aren’t certain why he made these things up but we do know that he was moving and that Daphne did not get along with the new puppy that they brought home and someone had to go. Why he didn’t try to find a home for her, we cannot answer. But luckily for Daphne the vet did not feel that she should be euthanized, called us and asked the owner to surrender the dog. That is how she ended up with CR&R on Halloween day.

Daphne is a Chihuahua mix, possibly terrier but really we have no idea, we just know she is big. 15 lbs of big. We wanted to keep her in foster for a while to make sure we learned her temperament so that we could place her in the right home. She is about 6 years old.

Daphne likes to ride in the car and will just sit in the car seat. She also likes to go on walks and walks very well on a leash. So cruzin and late night walks are great for her. She adores children and most people, however she can be shy with some new people. Daphne is completely house broken and crate trained. She sleeps in a crate at night and stays in a crate when her foster parents are not at home. She likes to cuddle on the couch with a person or a blanket. A great warmer for those late night movies.

Daphne knows a few commands, such as come and sit. She also likes to do zoomies around the back yard and come running back to you for some lovin. And she also enjoys belly rubs.

What Daphne doesn’t like is cats and she isn’t great around other dogs. There are a few dogs that she has gotten along with but she would do best in a home as an only dog. If you want to try Daphne to see if she gets along with your dog, we will only introduce her to older, calmer male dogs. Absolutely no females and no puppies.

Daphne might do well as an apartment dog because she is very quiet and does not bark and she enjoys walking. However, she would need to be trained to potty on a leash and or potty pads.

Daphne is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $150. If you would like to meet Daphne please complete an application at http://www.adoptapet.com/chihuahuarescueandrehab

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daphne, a Vacaville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Vacaville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Vacaville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vacaville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vacaville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vacaville paves the way for another one to be saved.
