My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Matilda (Tilly) is a 3 year old English Bulldog/ lab mix pup who, through no fault of her own, is in need of a forever home. She is a soulful tyke who wears her heart on her sleeve. Neglect and disinterest by her last family, left her heartbroken and unsure. However, after a short time in her new foster home, Matilda is learning to love and trust again. This little sweetheart is a people dog. She adores people which baffles us as to how her last family could have broken their promise to her. Now, in her foster home, she joyfully greets each new person as if they are sure to be a friend. Matilda seems to have deduced that each new face means more hands to give her pets and scratches. Her joyous response is demonstratively evident in her full body wiggle down to her tail whenever anyone shows her love. Matilda has mastered sit and has the attention and interest to continue training and learning. Particularly, Matilda needs to continue to practice and learn some leash work, because she does tend to pull in excitement. Matilda is house trained without any accidents and is crate trained as well. Matilda respects the couch and beds and prefers to sleep and relax on the floor. She adores her canine foster sibling who is teaching her the ropes in her temporary home including how to play and have fun! Matilda loves her feline foster sister and is completely respectful of the cat and her space. This precious tyke would do best in a home with an older, or calmer dog or one who is not out to prove anything. Although Matilda is well and appropriately behaved with children, we believe she appreciates quiet and calm, and may do best in a home with older children. Matilda is heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations and is eagerly awaiting a truly forever home!
