My name is Lulu. If I look a little sad in my photos, it’s because actually I am sad. I had such a wonderful life for a long time with my owner, going everywhere with her, being loved by her. But then she died suddenly and things went from bad to worse for awhile. A couple of people took me in but they didn’t really understand dogs and living with them was frightening and has made me feel pretty timid. Finally a nice lady that knew me before my owner died took me in, and I thought things were looking up; but she has a dog that just doesn’t want to live with another dog, so I need a new home. I know I could be happy again the way I once was, if only I can find the person who will take me home forever and love me and be patient with me and give me time.
Just so you know a little about me, I love to ride in the car and to go for walks. I’ve always liked other dogs and people of all ages, even kids. But you might not know when you first meet me just how happy and smiley and friendly I can be, because I’ve frankly been traumatized by all the things that have happened to me since my person died. But if you give me a chance and a loving home like I had before, I know that the “old me” is just waiting to emerge. I go to sleep every night thinking about how it could be again...maybe you could be that person that makes my world right forever. Please come to meet me and take me to my new forever home. And please understand if my smile isn't there at first....I need you to help me find it again.
Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption.
The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
