My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dana is a super sweet 2-year-old Female German Shepherd Dog ready for adoption. She weighs 72 pounds, is spayed, current on all of her shots, and comes with Lifetime Training from Von Dubinhaus Shepherds Rescue.

Dana was an owner surrender as a result of being over-protective of her previous owner. In terms of social skills we've observed, Dana is VERY friendly and happy to be around people, even new people. With that said, we're not bonded with her as pack members, so we'll want an adoptee with strong confidence, ready to assert themselves and ensure Dana does not fall into those same habits once she assimilates to her new home and pack. With other dogs, she's done excellent with some of our Male GSD's we've socialized her with and is very playful. Previously, she lived harmoniously with another dog, so a home with a well-balanced male of decent size should be no problem.

Overall, we feel Dana has potential to be an excellent dog, but it's important we keep her structured and well-balanced as she enters her adult years. Like all of our rescues, she comes with free training for the duration of her life, so do not contact us if you're only willing to do the bare minimum with this dog. We want someone as excited about her as we are, willing to go the extra-mile if need be to help her reach her doggy-potential!
