My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Pugglesworth is a 3 year old male Pug mix who is as precious as can be! Super low maintenance, this little guy is completely crate trained and we are fairly confident that he is house trained as well. Although we rescued him out of a kill shelter, we think Mr. Pugglesworth has had a home at one time because he already knew very well what treats were and how to sit when he sees them :-) Unfortunately his previous owner did not keep him on heartworm prevention so Mr. P tested positive for heartworms when we got him. He is undergoing treatment now and should be ready for his new home around the first of February...BUT we are taking applications NOW. Mr. Pugglesworth weighs in at 22 pounds, already sits, loves treats and food in general and enjoys playing with toys and balls. This boy is super easy and makes no fuss in the house...he likes to lay on the sofa or dog bed and enjoy his surroundings. Mr. Pugglesworth seems to get along with everyone he meets, does fine in a fenced yard for play time and is just an all around great dog that everyone seems to be looking for! He gets excited when it's time for his walk and he would love to be someone's walking partner (he needs to burn off all the food he enjoys eating!). Mr. Pugglesworth has already been neutered, chipped, de-wormed and is current on all his vaccines, flea & heartworm prevention. He will finish up the remainder of his heartworm treatment and will be ready to go! If you are interested in adopting this precious little guy, contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application. We DO ship up north so just ask for details. A vet reference is required for application approval (means you have to have owned a pet so we can verify proper vet history). We only adopt to inside homes and do not allow dogs to run loose without a properly fenced yard. We are looking for the BEST home for Mr. Pugglesworth! $300 adoption fee plus additional donation (goes toward paying for his heartworm treatment).
Adoption fees for puppies are $350, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
