Meet Jasna! Jasna and her mother, Savannah (she has a separate listing, but is in the last photo with Jasna), were dumped at a VERY high kill shelter. Their previous owner had butchered Savannah's ears with a scissors, and Jasna had a broken leg, but their owner didn't care and did not want them anymore and took them to a rural southern shelter to be killed. MJAS stepped in and saved mother and daughter. Both had medical issues to overcome, so they were placed in separate foster homes to recover, and our plan had been to adopt them out separately. However, fate had a way of bringing them back together for what was supposed to be a brief reunion, and it was immediately apparent that we could never separate these girls again! Mother and daughter remembered each other, and the bond was unmistakable. We were fortunate to be able to place them in the same foster home this time, and we are so happy for them! They do EVERYTHING together! They love to run and play, they snuggle together, and are simply the best of friends! When two dogs are bonded and have been through trauma together, we try our best to keep them together, because they have suffered enough loss in their short lives. Jasna is ONLY available for adoption with her mother Savannah.
Jasna is believed to be about 1.5 years old, approximately 60 lbs. Savannah is believed to be about 3 years old and about 55 lbs. Jasna's back right leg was broken when we rescued her, but she has since had orthopedic surgery to repair the bones, and is now healed. She does not even have a limp now! She can do anything any other dog can do, including stairs, run, jump, play, fetch, sit, lie down, etc. Jasna is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She has received a completely clean bill of health from the vet and is ready to find her forever family with her mother!
Jasna and Savannah are both housebroken and walk well on the leash. Savannah is the slightly more confident of the two, which is to be expected in a mother/daughter bond. Both love to snuggle and sometimes insist on being snuggled! Both will keep you and each other warm at night!
A home with children to grow up with would thrill this duo. But we don't recommend a home with cats or smaller critters, because Savannah LOVES to stalk birds and squirrels in the yard, so we think she may chase smaller animals as well. Both are playful, energetic, and have basic obedience. A fenced yard for them to run and play together is a must.
