My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DJ is one of the eight “Star Wars Puppies”. . . no, “DJ” wasn’t a character in Star Wars. DJ was named after his mother since he looks just like her. DJ was born on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. That makes him a Virgo – which comes in handy for a puppy as those born under the sign of Virgo are known for their excellent judgement…which is why DJ chose to wear a Christmas tie for his photo with Santa. DJ is a sweet, active puppy. He’s kind of a baby but he’ll grow out of that. DJ is great with all of his foster’s other dogs and he’s learning about kitties. DJ is a mixed-breed dog. . .generally the healthiest and easiest to get veterinary insurance on. 7/ DJ will probably be between 50-60 pounds once he grows up. It is really too early to estimate but his mom is medium-sized (45 pounds), with an “easy-going temperament.” DJ’s mom loves to swim and chase tennis balls. DJ’s dad, well, it appears he was something of a rolling stone. Most likely culprit is a black Lab/Hound mix with a “medium build (50 pounds) and big ears.” DJ eats Natural Balance Lamb and Brown Rice puppy food, has already started on Heartgard heartworm preventive and is working on his crate-training and house-training. Next on his agenda is learning to walk on a leash. DJ’s application fee is $200 with an approved application. DJ’s adoption fee covers all age-appropriate vaccines, de-worming, neutering and microchipping. DJ’s foster also works on crate-training, house-training, leash-training, baths and nail trims with DJ.

DJ's mom is an English Bull Dog/Pit mix and we think there may have been 2 different fathers as some of the pups look like mom, while the others look like Boxers or Labrador/Shepherd mixes.

Our adoption fee is a $200.00 donation to Pup Squad Animal Rescue. Our adopted dogs are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adoption, please go to www.pupsquad.org/adopt to read more about our policies and find our application. Applications should be submitted to adoption@pupsquad.org or via the online form.

We are happy to transport our dogs out-of-state as we have lots of experience doing this and love to see our dogs to the best homes possible! We will assist with the whole process to getting your new pet to you. Feel free to email us regarding availability or any other questions. Please remember all breed estimates are just that...estimations based on our experience. NOTE: We will only do transport if the dogs are 4 months of age or older as this means they are fully vetted and spay/neutered at this age.

Thank you for choosing to rescue an animal in need!
