My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shadow was surrendered to ARF on December 27, 2016.  The lady who surrendered her had kept her for two months.  She found her advertised on social media by someone who had taken her in to keep her from being shot, she said.  When the lady brought Shadow for ARF members to meet, she was very friendly and could sit, shake, and hug.  She would stand with her paws up to beg for treats. Shadow was curious about the cats and might chase one that ran, but she didn't seem to want to hurt them.  She liked all of the dogs that she met in the lobby as well as all of the people coming and going. The owner couldn't say enough good things about Shadow, but she surrendered this pretty dog because she was unable to house train her. There are several children in the home, both biological and foster children, including some with special needs.  Shadow was great with all of them, according to the owner.  Shadow seems very smart and capable of learning, so ARF members can't help wondering if she was taken out often enough or on a regular schedule to cause the house training issue. Shadow has gone into boarding for now, so we'll see how she does in the next few days.  Shadow is 2 years old and weighs 40 pounds.  The owner was told when she got Shadow that she had been spayed, and ARF members found the spay scar. Though she is reportedly up to date on shots, ARF received no records or proof, so she will be given her shots.  Shadow is beautiful with her curly hair and a stub tail, but here she is homeless again.  Can someone take this sweet girl and patiently teach her her potty manners?
